ICYMI: Aave Companies posted a request for comment that proposes to launch GHO, an Aave native stablecoin. If approved through the usual process by the Aave DAO, GHO will become live on Ethereum mainnet.
The Risk Stewards — Chaos Labs and Gauntlet — remain quite active in their use of the streamlined process recently approved by governance — while upholding standards.
Aave Improvement Proposals
Polygon Supply Cap Update (241)
Summary: This proposal aims to increase the stMATIC and MaticX Supply Caps on Polygon to 40M units and 38M units respectively. The current utilization of these supply caps has reached 100%, causing difficulties for strategies built on the Aave Protocol to deposit into these reserves. Increasing the supply caps will enable users to deposit funds and facilitate the creation of yield aggregation products, addressing frustrations experienced by communities that have invested resources in building on Aave v3.

Status: Ends on June 14
Add LUSD to Arbitrum Aave V3 (240)
Summary: This proposal suggests adding LUSD, a decentralized stablecoin backed by ETH, to Aave Arbitrum v3 with collateral disabled (LTV 0%) but borrowing enabled. The addition of LUSD to Arbitrum aims to promote stablecoin diversity and leverage the trustless nature of Liquidity Protocol. LUSD has overcollateralization mechanisms and is currently listed on Ethereum v3, Ethereum v2, and Optimism v3 deployments.

Summary: The proposal recommends deprecating the Aave V2 AMM market due to its low usage and risk/reward profile. The proposal suggests freezing all assets (DAI, USDC, USDT, WBTC, ETH) in the AMM V2 market without liquidating positions.

Update Mai Token implementations, unpause & enable flashloanable (238)
Summary: This proposal aims to update the MAI a/s/v token implementations on Optimism and Arbitrum to align with Aave 3.0.2. It also sets the MAI reserve as flashloanable and resolves issues related to repayments and liquidations by upgrading token implementations, enabling the flashloanable flag, and unpausing the reserve.

BUSD Offboarding Plan Part II (237)
Summary: This proposal suggests making changes to the InterestRate Strategy of the BUSD reserve on the Aave V2 Ethereum pool and withdrawing POL aBUSD from the Aave V2 Ethereum pool. The motivation behind these actions is to create unsustainable positions for remaining borrowers, encouraging them to repay or reach liquidation thresholds. The specified parameters include modifying risk parameters to increase the aggressiveness of the interest rate curve and removing Protocol Owned Liquidity aBUSD to increase the utilization ratio and cost of open positions.
